Architectural
Trained as an architect, Ling treats physical structures as collaborative, active elements: places designed and built together with the people who will gather, make sense of issues, discuss, and act within them. Her work spans permanent public installations that give voice and presence to a shared landscape, from a centuries-old tree in a public park to the new entrance of a major children’s hospital designed to bring life into its public space. It also includes temporary structures built for gathering: tensegrity forms, living installations grown collectively by communities, and low carbon pop-up pavilions built as part of the ongoing Low Carbon Chinatown initiative.
